SOA Academy was incorporated in 2011 in order to fulfil the requirements set up by the Council of Private Education (CPE). The Academy has successfully applied for registration to conduct the Bachelors of Science in Optometry Completion Program and the Masters of Science in Clinical Optometry which will be delivered by Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Salus University. SOA in collaboration with MINDEF has undertaken to sell spectacle frames and lenses to Full-time National Servicemen (NSFs); Regulars and DXOs; and Civilians working in MINDEF/SAF; and DSTA personnel deployed in MINDEF on MINDEF Welfare benefits.
